What is CRV?

CRV stands for California Redemption Value and is the deposit consumers pay on beverage containers when they purchase qualifying beverages. State law requires recycling centers to pay CRV refunds for loads that contain ONLY eligible CRV beverage containers.  According to state, law, each beverage container being redeemed for a cash refund must have its orginal label still attached with either  "CRV" or "California Redemption Value" printed on the label. Non-CRV must be removed from the load for the entire load to be considered for redemption.

Refund is not paid for contamination or moisture. Bottles not containing labels will also not be accepted for the refund.

The consumer has the right to:

1.) Accept a discounted refund and/or scrap price.

2.) Separate refund from non-refund material.

3.) Take material back.
